I WILL WORK FOR YOU!
Minnesota has a high quality work force, a strong work ethic, and a rich culture of innovation and hard work. We can build on these strengths to grow healthy Minnesota families.
As your voice in St. Paul, my goal will be to move our economy forward by promoting legislation aimed at keeping jobs in our state while encouraging others to expand in Minnesota. Building a healthy economy starts with reversing the trend of job-killing taxes, reducing government red tape and unnecessary regulations that burden our job creators.
Your family lives within its financial means and so should your government. I will work steadfastly to ensure that government services are provided efficiently and that dollars are spent wisely. Fiscal restraint and effective, smart government are complementary to each other and I will work on your behalf to promote both in St. Paul.
To reduce wasteful spending that drives up costs, I believe we need to be serious about eliminating fraud and abuse as officials in St. Paul spend your tax dollars.
Minnesotans deserve high quality healthcare at an affordable rate. I will fight for patient-centered legislation that preserves your right to make your own healthcare and health insurance choices. By embracing some basic market-oriented reforms, we can improve access and lower costs while providing care for Minnesotans who need assistance.
Minnesota needs an efficient transportation system that gets you and your family where you need to be quickly and safely. State government needs to find effective methods to implement cost-saving techniques in the state’s transportation budget.
Among our higher priorities is securing the safety of the public by having stable roads and bridges. I will also work to prevent federal transportation dollars from being diverted away from maintaining and improving our core transportation infrastructure.
Our children deserve a world-class education. Educating our children successfully is essential for a healthy community and the future of our state.
As a former educator, I am concerned that Minnesota has the highest achievement gap in the country, despite the fact that Minnesota’s current investment in K12 education is roughly 41% of the budget and 7.3% for higher education. We can and should do better for our kids.
